Immediate remedy for a swollen throat?

idk if i have a cold or what, but i have a lump in my throat making it difficult to swollow and impossible to sleep because its effecting my breathing. is there anything i can do rite now to relieve it to any degree? dont mention medication crap because i need something now please!!!!
