How old is too old for ballet?
I am a 30 year old woman. I have loved the ballet for many years since I was a child. My parents couldn't afford to get me lessons, so I never learned. I'm in a place in my life where I can pay for it myself and learn as much as I want. I have no crazy notions of being a professional, as I know professionals start young and retire young. I am just wondering if it's possible for me to learn the technique and get on pointe eventually? It would be purely for pleasure and passion. I have often been asked if I danced in the past because I have a dancers body, very slim, small breasted, longer legs. So i don't have a lot of weight to lose or anything. Is is possible? Has anyone done this? Any suggestions on classes or good DVDs/videos/books etc? There aren't many adult classes in my area. Unless I drive about 45 min, which I'd be willing to do, but if there's anything that could help me out at home, that would be wonderful for days I can't drive so far!!! Suggestions and advise PLEASE!!!
